First Encounter at the Beach
We moved to Weymouth in mid-January, and we live in a flat so our dog gets 3-4 walks, usually along the beach. Each morning I’d be out, and I noticed that some people were leaving peanuts out for the crows in the morning. I didn’t want to impose on anyone else’s habits, but eventually started bringing some dry dog food with me.
Within a couple of days the crows have gotten comfortable with me and the dog. I try wear the same clothes or similar looking clothes, and the dog doesn’t change much. I often hear them spotting us as we walk across Alexandra Gardens, and they greet us by the steps. I usually wait til we’re well on the beach so there’s plenty of room for them to congregate and it doesn’t interfere with other dog walkers.
